The equipment is then distributed to Kalamazoo County neighborhood centers, United Way Agencies, non-profit agencies and schools. Nonprofits may also purchase reconditioned equipment at low cost. ·         THINK DETROIT COMPUTER RECYCLING

Think Detroit is a nonprofit community agency with the dual goal of empowering Detroit children with computers and strengthening character and family ties through team sports. Through its "Balls & Bytes" programs, children participate in a sport and selected children (age 10 and over) are given a 20-hour computer training course. The cost is minimal. For a classroom fee of $25 they're taught everything from simple word processing to understanding computer components and utilizing the Internet. When they finish the course, scholar athletes are given a free Pentium computer to take home. Think Detroit provides technical resources and up to 25 computers a month for Amelia Earhart Middle School students and parents to refurbish, with half of the computers returning to the non-profit organizations for distribution. They accept donations of Pentium computers, VGA (or better) monitors, Inkjet and Laser Printers, copiers, scanners and fax machines. Equipment must be in working condition.
